What does a registered agent do for each year? I am considering a business that will deal only with rental properties.

Dear George Smith: Thanks for choosing for your business needs. Register agent's  job is to receive mail  from the departments. In any state of USA to register company you need to have a register agent and you can be your own registered agent. For example; You are registering company in Georgia and have physical address and can receive mail from the departments then you can be you own register agent and you do not need to retain a third party as a registered agent and pay yearly fees. But If you do not have address then you have to retain a third party for the address. For instance; You live in Canada and wants to create a company in USA and does not have address then you are required to retain a register agent to receive mail from the departments on your  behalf and forward you the mail.
