What is an Assumed name or DBA in San Antonio?
Any person or corporation whom regularly conducts business in the state using a business name other than the person's legal name or the registered corporate name shall file an Assumed Business Name. Assumed name for a Corporation or a Limited Liability Company will be filed with the Texas Secretary of State.

- A complete business address
- Have the completed Business Certificate form notarized and send it along with the appropriate fee
- Once the Business Certificate form has been notarized, submit the original along with the appropriate fee.
- DBA for a Sole Proprietorship is valid for ten years.
- Name reservation is not allowed for a sole proprietorship business name.
