HOW TO FILE ALABAMA ANNUAL REPORT:

  • All LLCs, Corporations and LLPs doing business in Alabama must file an annual report every year in order to comply with the state requirements and avoid penalties and fines.

  • All business entities except for nonprofit corporations and partnerships, upon starting a new business are required to file an Initial Business Privilege Tax Return (called Form BPT-IN) within two and a half months of incorporation, or registration.

  • All business entities also required to pay the Alabama Business Privilege Tax. Alabama state requires every business entity to update its information each year on a periodic basis through a form called Business privilege Tax Return. The Alabama Corporation Business Privilege Tax Return and Annual Report is sometimes referred to as an Alabama Corporation Annual Report.

  • Annual report can be filed manually on a paper form (form available on the Secretary of State website) or electronically on the Secretary of State website.
