When you are starting up, you definitely want to keep costs low and the process simple. DBA Filing helps you to do that. You do not have the ongoing maintenance or the costs associated with forming a corporation or LLC. Once your business is running profitably, you may want to convert it to a corporation or LLC.

    * It allows you as a sole proprietor to use a business name rather than your personal name.
    * It allows a single legal entity (corporation, LLC, etc.) to operate multiple businesses without creating a new legal entity for each business.
    * Having an Assumed Name gives the business owner some creditability.

First we apologize for replying you late due to some systems error. If you are doing business under your personal name as sole proprietor then you will use your social security number to open bank account and filing taxes.

I am looking into starting up an online only business and having troubling finding information on what I need to do for registering a business name. There isn't going to be any storefront so I'm not sure if I still need to register the name with my home state or through some other special method.
Reply : infotaxsquare.com

Setting up an online store you simply have to incorporate your business either with your county or state and If there is taxable sales involved then you have to obtain a sales tax permit and to open the bank account and filing your corporate taxes you must obtain EIN.

How can you register a name for a small business and how much do is cost to register, also if you register a name can someone else make a new business and use the name that you have resisted.
Reply : infotaxsquare.com

As far as the cost is concerned then it depends what state do you want to register your business? No one can use this name in your state if you have incorporated it.
